Rainforest National Park
Self contained accommodation
in Cape Tribulation
Self contained accommodation in the heart of the Daintree
rainforest at Cape Tribulation.
This is your chance to stay in Cape Tribulation's most unique accommodation
surrounded by the oldest rain forest in the world.
This is not your average accommodation place...
Interior of the Jungle Hut
This cabin is our newest accommodation option at Rainforest
Hideaway, and will be available from 23 December 2017.
You have your own private deck overlooking the oldest rainforest in
the world, a great spot for a sunset drink and/or a BBQ.
This is a spacious room at 30m2 and the veranda is also a good size.
Nightly rate for this room starts from $149.- and includes
all linen, towels, coffee and tea and free Wifi.
Front view of the Jungle Hut
Features and facilities of this cabin:
Private toilet and open air shower.
Private deck overlooking the rain forest.
Free 100Mb of Wifi per day.
Coffee and tea.
Basic kitchen facilities and BBQ to do your own meals, and an esky /
ice box to keep things cool.
Thanks to the government stubbornly denying us grid electricity we have
to make do with batteries, generator and solar panels.
This means that the list of facilities is not what you would consider
standard in the city.
No air-con (but you'll be surprised how cool the rainforest air is),
no TV or fridge in room, no hair-dryer, no electric water jug to make
In summer time a pedestal fan will be placed in your room, and adjustable
glass louvres capture natural cooling breezes. All lights are energy-savers,
and there is gas to heat your shower and make a coffee in the kitchen.
We offer free Wifi with a daily limit of 100Mb per device, and have
a selection of videos of cassowaries and other local wildlife around
the house stored on our wifi router which you can watch on your device.
This does not count towards your daily limit.
You also have free access to the sculpture trail that winds around
our five acre rain forest property, and the beautiful creek which is
a good place for a dip outside dry season.
The back veranda with BBQ / basic cooking facilities
This open air bathroom has magnificent views, yet is totally private.
Shower with the cassowaries!
Cassowary sightings around this accommodation, although not guaranteed,
can be frequent.
Over the years we have seen quite a few cassowary chicks grow up in
